The New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium has been at the forefront of right whale research since the discovery of a remnant population in the North Atlantic in 1980. For over twenty years they have studied this most endangered of the large whales in three of its five known habitats. Each year they learn more about habitat requirements, population demographics and biology of right whales. The primary goal of the Right Whale Program is to identify and designate critical habitats and implement legislation and regulations to ensure the health of the population and of the ecosystem as a whole.

Northern Tides supports the North Atlantic Right Whale Research Program, hosted by the New England Aquarium, in their efforts to further conserve and protect the North Atlantic Right Whale by offering to sell their products at our location and over the Internet. When you purchase one of their products or sponsor a Right Whale, the funds raised go to funding field research, subsequent data collection and analysis, to pay for camera equipment, fuel for research vessels, food or lodging.
