A frugal Yankee unbringing and the sight of wasted edge trimmings falling from my table saw inspired me to create my first wooden bookmark in 1986. Today, I first slice cherry wood into thin strips on a table saw. I then completely sand the strips, and finally, cut the profiles using a scroll saw with a very fine blade. An oil finish accents the grain and the rich color of the wood. Additionally, I am pleased to note that all my wood is the recycled waste of larger cabinet makers. I hope you enjoy your bookmark!
