Windjammers, Lighthouses & Other Treasures of the Maine Coast
The coast of Maine, with its evocative light and beauty, has been inspiring artists for hundreds of years. There is a special wholeheartedness about this land, its places, and its people. These qualities are at times hard to define yet quickly understood once you have experienced them. That may well explain why so many writers, painters, poets, and photographers have been drawn to Maine’s shores to work, to study, and to create art of timeless beauty.
Photographer Frank Chilllemi experienced this coast for the first time in 1988, and in his heart he has never left. Working, studying, and teaching along these shores ever since, Frank has produced a body of work that reflects his love, his passion, and his utmost respect for the land and the sea, its maritime traditions, and the people who call this coast home.
