Chris Crittenden
Location: Lubec, Maine
In his five years of crafting poetry, Chris Crittenden has published over 300 poems in 150 journals, many of them with national reputations. Many influences impact on his daily passion for writing, some of which are: a PH.D. in philosophy which grounds his ecofeminist ethos; a life spent almost equally on the east and west coasts (he now resides in the easternmost town in the U.S., a small fishing village without traffic lights); an anguished shamanistic spirituality; an equally powerful awe and love for the miracle of life; and most importantly, his marriage to a beautiful, artistic, supportive woman whose sculptures, paintings and tapestries surround and amaze him. The things he’s proudest of are finding and marrying his wife, Shanna, working on a suicide hotline for thirteen years, teaching students to think deeply, and his poetry. He sincerely hopes his collection will add something to your life, if only for an hour, minute or second, something that tweaks your awareness and makes your day a little more fulfilled.
